The Coordinator, Operations assists the Supervisor, Operations in ensuring the smooth running of stevedoring operations on weekends. His versatility enables him to support the team of managers at his terminal, and helps the company achieve its objectives within his department.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:
Distribute the work and coordinate the operations of the stevedoring team
Inventory and dispatch trailers from all carriers as required and directed.
Keep abreast of the dispatch of external carriers (other than Robert Transport) via e-mail, text messages and phone calls. Contact carriers directly in case of lack of information.
Maintain awareness of Robert Transport trip dispatch via GUI and report completed loads.
Prepare and communicate loading plans.
Act as a primary resource for team members - manage tardiness and absences and report disciplinary issues to Supervisor, Operations.
Follow up on customer requests and ensure their satisfaction
Adapt to changes in customer requests and carry out last-minute updates (e.g., equipment replacement, additional travel).
Solve operational problems and manage unforeseen events
Ensure that all relevant loading and operational information is entered into the system.
Establish and maintain good written and verbal communication with internal partners and customers
Demonstrate respect and fairness in relations with team and customer
Identify operational improvement opportunities and work with the Operations Supervisor to develop and implement them.
Ensure team compliance with customer operational and safety procedures, manage OHS events within team
Monitor and identify events that negatively affect our performance indicators and propose potential solutions
Communicate and track equipment repair needs with internal teams (dispatch, garage)
Assist or replace dispatchers as needed
Any other related tasks
In order to join Groupe Robert's team, you must have:
Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) in transportation logistics or equivalent experience
1 year experience in a similar position
Relevant experience in the transportation field and knowledge of load securing (an important asset)
Mastery of Office suite, comfortable with ERP systems
Advanced level in spoken and written French
Intermediate level of spoken and written English
